Description

Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) is a key cytokine that regulates hematopoiesis, immune activation, and inflammation. Produced by T cells, macrophages, and endothelial cells, it stimulates granulocyte and macrophage differentiation and enhances their function. By binding to its receptor (GM-CSFR), GM-CSF activates JAK/STAT, PI3K/Akt, and MAPK signaling, promoting immune defense, tissue repair, and inflammation. Dysregulated GM-CSF is linked to autoimmune diseases and cancer.

Recombinant GM-CSF is extensively applied in vitro to study myeloid cell differentiation, cytokine production, and antigen presentation. It also supports drug discovery for immunotherapies and treatments for neutropenia, autoimmune diseases, and cancer, aiding research in immune modulation and regenerative medicine.
